(The cheese is supposed to go on top...I messed up...)
Layered Green Salad
1 head lettuce
1 C. celery, diced
4 eggs, hard boiled
1-10 oz pkg. frozen peas
1/2 C. green pepper, diced
1 sweet onion, diced
8 slices bacon, fried and diced
1 can sliced water chestnuts
4 oz. cheese, grated
Tear lettuce into a clear bowl. Layer rest of ingredients in order given.
Topping:
2 C. mayonnaise
2 TBSP sugar
Mix together and spread over top of salad.
Be sure to seal edges with topping
Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
Refrigerate 8-12 hours. (it is good even right after, but letting it sit overnight allows all the flavors to soak together)
